From Pulp to Print: A Celebration of Handmade Paper

The exhibition showcases an extraordinary assortment of handmade papers published between 1998 and 2012 by Hand Papermaking, Inc., a national non-profit organization dedicated to advancing traditional and contemporary techniques in the art of hand papermaking since 1986. Each invited and juried artwork by a leading paper artist was designed and made specifically for one of seven limited-edition portfolios as part of a series focusing on either a specific papermaking technique or intriguing use of handmade paper. The 88 pieces in the show incorporate a wide variety of paper fibers, printmaking techniques, paper engineering, and pulp painting—works of art that either break new ground or exemplify the finest traditional papermaking techniques.
