William Cassady Cattell (1842-1898) was president of Lafayette College from 1863-1883. Cattell also taught during his years as president, serving as Professor of Mental and Moral Philosophy. William Cassady Cattell diaries and notebook include nine diaries and one notebook maintained between the years 1856 and 1881. Diaries contain brief entries about travel in the Lehigh Valley, Europe, and Cuba. Also included in these diaries are schedules for Lafayette College activities, notes on sermons, and weather observations.
