Edwin James Fager, an electrical engineering major at Lafayette College, was born on November 7, 1890, in Harrisburg, Pa. During his student days at Lafayette College, he was class president, captain of the baseball team, and a member of Phi Kappa Psi fraternity.After graduation in 1913, Fager played professional baseball with the St. Louis Browns. He later worked as a special agent for for the Boston and Old Colony Insurance Company. He died in 1953.

This scrapbook contains newspaper clippings relating to Fager’s career as a baseball player, including his involvement on the Mercersburg baseball team in 1909. In addition, there are grandstand ticket stubs and several programs for the games. Loose materials include a program for his 1983 posthumous induction into the Lafayette College Athletic Hall of Fame.
