The Orvan W. Hess Collection consists of documents, photographs, and postcards from Hess’s life. The bulk of the material dates from 1942-1945 during his time served as a surgeon with the 91st Evacuation Hospital during the WWII invasions of North Africa, Sicily, and Normandy.
