Henry Buckingham was postmaster in Kingston, Pennsylvania and operated a paper mill in Luzerne County, 1812-1821, with financial support from shareholders, George Cahoon, Horace Parker, and Joseph Tuttle. Manuscript ledger accounts from June to December 1815 record payments for services perfomed, and a wide variety of goods such as fabric, food, spices, medicines, tobacco, and tools for sale at a general store. References for the paper mill appear throughout the ledger noting reams of paper sold and payments made to paper mill workers.
