The Centennial Celebration was held in honor of the 100th anniversary of the opening of the college in 1832 and included a pageant featuring prominent events in the history of the college and memorable incidents in the life of the Marquis de Lafayette.
Thomas Porter Robinson was Director of Public Relations at Lafayette College, and most of the material in the scrapbook came from the College’s public relations files. The scrapbook contains memorabilia from Lafayette College’s centennial celebration (May 15-21, 1932) including posters, newspaper clippings, invitations, congratulatory letters, photographs of the pageant and exhibition, and a signed letter from President Herbert Hoover.
