A 19th century handwritten pharmaceutical notebook containing medical recipes for various ailments and illnesses, as well as the date, source, and doctor from whom the treatment method was acquired. Entries are included for hysteria, cancer, consumption, sea sickness, antidotes for poisons, gout, and many more. Some of the entries go on for several pages with detailed notes about the applications of various prescriptions. Also includes recipes for household amenities such as writing ink, hair dye, ginger beer, and poor man’s hand soap.
