Claude Rupert (1911-1987) graduated from Lafayette College in 1932 and served overseas in India and China during WWII. After the war, he served as a logistics advisor to the Chinese Air Force. The collection consists of photographs, slides, books, and ephemera gathered by Rupert in California, Japan, and China during his post-WWII years advising Chiang Kai-shek’s Nationalist government from 1946-1948.
