James R. Vitelli was a member of the Lafayette College Faculty from 1950 until his retirement in 1987. His papers include publications, newspapers clippings, correspondence, and documents dating from 1965-1975 and document Vitelli’s anti-Vietnam War sentiments as well as his family’s participation in local area anti-war protests. Included are collected newspapers and journals that focus on issues relating to labor, socialism, feminism, black activism, race relations, US foreign policy, and a number of college and university alternative student groups and publications. Significant topics include anti-draft efforts, the National Vietnam Moratorium protest in October of 1969, and the student strike at Lafayette College in May of 1970.
